The Master of Medical Science (Regenerative Medicine) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya is a 48 credit hour mixed-mode full-time program. It integrates 20 credit hours of core courses, 4 credit hours from elective options, and a 24-credit research dissertation. The program covers cell-based therapy, regulation in regenerative medicine, stem cell and tissue engineering, industry perspectives and advanced tools in regenerative medicine. The curriculum is designed to meet industry needs, preparing graduates for roles such as bioprocess development scientists, product application specialists, quality assurance managers, and R&D managers in biotechnological and medical industries, as well as regulatory bodies. Graduates will also have a solid foundation for academic or research-oriented careers in regenerative medicine and related fields. The teaching approach combines lectures, hands-on assignments, laboratory visits, industry attachments, presentations, and independent research. Students are expected to develop professional, communication, and leadership skills, as well as research capabilities suitable for further doctoral studies if desired.
