Established in 1995, the Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the Faculty of Built Environment, University of Malaya, is an intensive three-year undergraduate programme providing solid academic foundations in architecture. The course is taught full-time, requiring 120 credit hours, and integrates core design subjects with knowledge in culture, technology, environment, and research. The programme is accredited by Malaysia's Board of Architects (LAM) and validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), granting Part I exemptions upon completion. Students are exposed to design, culture and context, technology, environment, research, and management, ensuring they are well-equipped for professional practice and further graduate studies. Industrial training is mandatory at the end of the programme. Upon graduation, students are eligible for Master of Architecture (Part II) with required industrial experience. Graduates have diverse career opportunities in architectural practices and construction-related industries locally and abroad.
