The MSc by Research in Scandinavian Studies is a one-year research degree designed for a focused piece of independent research under expert supervision, either via two research assignments plus a 15,000-word dissertation (Pathway 1) or a single 30,000-word dissertation (Pathway 2). It is positioned as a strong stepping stone to a PhD while also valued as a standalone qualification.
