Edinburgh Law School’s LLM in International Economic Law provides in‑depth knowledge of international legal institutions, the rules and principles of the international economic system, and key legal and policy issues arising from globalization. The curriculum is organised around three pillars—international trade law, international investment law, and international development—requiring foundational courses in at least two pillars, with options covering areas such as sustainable development, international monetary and financial law, investment arbitration procedure, dispute settlement, and advanced trade and investment topics. The programme aims to develop both theoretical and practical understanding, enabling critical analysis of contemporary challenges and the activities of international organisations, NGOs, and private actors in this field.
