The MSc in Medieval History provides advanced training to pursue research in medieval history through small, seminar-based teaching, two compulsory research-skills courses, four option courses reflecting staff specialisms, and a supervised independent dissertation. Students are encouraged to develop skills such as Latin and benefit from world-class resources including the National Library of Scotland and the University of Edinburgh Main Library, as well as the cross-disciplinary Edinburgh Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies community. This programme explores the Global Middle Ages and offers access to a wide range of taught options within History at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology.
