Taking the science of sound as the focus, the MSc provides a cross‑disciplinary education using theoretical and experimental work to explore musical, technical and multimedia applications of acoustics and audio technology. The emphasis is on science and technology for musical and multimedia contexts, aiming to build a scientifically oriented foundation in acoustics, audio and music technology; develop research, programming and analytical problem‑solving skills; and foster strong understanding of music/audio technology in a multidisciplinary environment. Teaching combines lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical work; students train with Matlab and Python. Assessment includes reports and exams, followed by an individual dissertation project with presentation in the final three months.
