The Master of Science in Human-Centered Design at the University of Michigan-Flint’s College of Innovation & Technology develops students’ skills in understanding users’ needs and behaviors, user experience design, and applying human-centered approaches to emerging technologies. The program provides three concentrations: Human-Centered AI, Augmented and Virtual Reality, and Game Development. It emphasizes experiential, project-based learning, research, and design, and may be completed entirely online or in-person. The curriculum includes 12 core credits, 12 credits in a chosen concentration, and 8 credits of electives or thesis. The degree prepares graduates for careers in UX design, AI/AR/game development, and related technology roles, with strong industry alignment and flexible pathways for those without prior computer science background.
