The Master of Science in Orthodontics program at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry is a full-time, CODA-accredited, 35-month graduate program designed to prepare specialists in orthodontics for leadership in clinical practice, teaching, and research. Established in 1923, it is one of the oldest and most distinguished programs of its kind. The curriculum covers comprehensive clinical orthodontic training, craniofacial biology, interdisciplinary collaboration with related dental specialties, and significant research components fulfilling requirements for the MS degree. Graduates are eligible for orthodontic specialty licensure in Michigan and are actively involved in innovative treatment as well as academic and professional development.
