The BSE in Space Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan prepares students for graduate study or careers in the rapidly growing space industry, as well as roles in government agencies and federal labs. Students choose between two concentrations: Space Science (emphasizing quantitative, theoretical and computational skills focusing on space physics and the Sun-Earth system) and Space Instrumentation (providing hands-on, laboratory and project experience in observational solar and space physics and space systems). Graduates develop strong foundations in physics and engineering, gaining skills in instrument design, data analysis, and systems engineering through world-class faculty mentorship and research opportunities.
