The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interarts Performance is a rigorous, interdisciplinary undergraduate program jointly offered by the Stamps School of Art & Design and the School of Music, Theatre & Dance at the University of Michigan. It is designed for students interested in both the visual and performing arts who wish to develop original, collaborative performance works that blur traditional boundaries between these disciplines. The curriculum balances studio and academic coursework from both schools, allowing students to forge individualized paths through mentorship while participating in a tight-knit creative cohort. Students gain exposure to a variety of art forms, creative practices, and are required to integrate resources and methods across disciplines. The degree is structured around 66 studio credits and 64 academic credits, including required courses, electives, and milestone reviews, with the goal of enabling graduates to become innovative artists ready for multidisciplinary artistic careers or further study.
