The BFA in Interarts Performance is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program jointly offered by the Stamps School of Art & Design and the School of Music, Theatre & Dance at the University of Michigan. Designed for students interested in both visual arts and performance/theater, the program aims to develop original work that merges performance and art. The curriculum integrates studio and academic courses from both schools, fostering both conceptual and practical skills in diverse forms such as new media, traditional acting, and visual arts. Students build a customized curricular path under mentorship, complete a 9-credit capstone Integrative Project in their final year, and graduate with a written thesis and public presentation. Graduates are prepared to cross traditional boundaries in creative industries, performance, and interdisciplinary art practice.
