The NUS-LSE Double Degree MA in Asian and International History is a two-year, full-time master's programme jointly offered by the National University of Singapore and the London School of Economics and Political Science. In the first year at NUS, students study contemporary historical methods, historiography, and a wide range of electives (or electives plus a thesis with qualifying grades) covering topics such as Southeast Asia, Singapore, East Asia, China, America, Europe, as well as themes like imperialism, empire, the Cold War, military, cultural, and oral history. In the second year at LSE, students select advanced International History courses (with a focus on Asia), alongside further specialist options from departments including Economic History, Government, Anthropology, or Geography, and complete a major research dissertation on an Asian-focused topic. Graduates gain in-depth cross-cultural knowledge, research skills, and global historical perspective, suitable for careers in academia, education, international organisations, media, and government.
