The Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Honours) is a 4-year direct honours cross-disciplinary degree offered by the College of Humanities and Sciences at the National University of Singapore. This programme integrates knowledge from diverse disciplines such as biology, geography, law, public health, chemistry, economics, management, math, policy, and statistics to address national, regional, and global environmental challenges including climate change, over-exploitation, pollution, land and water use, and the building of liveable high-density cities. The curriculum is broad-based and interdisciplinary, aiming to develop scientifically informed environmental leaders and advocates capable of generating sustainable solutions. Students benefit from field courses, research opportunities, industry exposure, and the option to pursue a second major in Life Sciences or Geography. The programme is jointly taught by the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, with participation from other NUS faculties.
