This interdisciplinary undergraduate programme merges Synthetic Chemistry and Process Engineering, providing a comprehensive understanding of chemical processes from the molecular to the industrial scale. It is developed in response to industry demand—particularly pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, energy, and materials manufacturing—for graduates proficient in both chemical engineering and chemistry. Students complete roughly 40% of their curriculum in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and 40% in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry, with the remainder in interdisciplinary collaborative core modules. The programme includes a 20–22-week compulsory industrial internship and culminates in a choice between a final-year individual research project in cutting-edge chemical science/engineering or a two-semester team-based design project focused on chemical plant design and process simulation. Electives in AI, Big Data, Project Management, and Intellectual Property provide additional technical and operational skills. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in manufacturing, R&D, and emerging interdisciplinary sectors.
