The Master of Science in Information Management (MSIM) at the University of Washington’s Information School prepares students to become socially conscious, data-driven leaders skilled in leveraging information assets strategically across organizations. The User Experience (UX) Specialization trains students to design, prototype, and formally evaluate interactive information interfaces using a user-centered perspective. This specialization equips graduates to develop UX strategies, conduct user research, create digital and accessible interfaces, and evaluate usability across digital platforms. Courses include design methods, visualization design, and experience design, and may be paired with electives in related information fields. The 2025 program accepts students from diverse backgrounds, with no prerequisite in UX or information management, and is available as a residential 36-credit program.
