The Master of Science in Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington (under the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, not directly offered by the College of the Environment but closely connected through research and faculty) provides robust training in both classical and emerging environmental engineering areas. The program offers coursework and research opportunities including drinking water/wastewater treatment, air quality, contaminated site remediation, resource recovery, environmental impacts of climate change, fate of trace-level pollutants, and advanced air/water treatment. Students may choose a research (thesis) or Professional Master’s track. Interactions with environmental faculty, industry practitioners, and professional community leaders are emphasized. Both tracks require 42 credits to graduate.
