The Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at the University of Washington’s College of Arts & Sciences, Jackson School of International Studies, is an interdisciplinary program dedicated to understanding the political, historical, economic, and cultural forces shaping global issues. Students choose from six majors and 17 minors, focusing on both area studies and international policy. The program integrates coursework from social sciences and humanities, with dedicated language requirements and robust analytical skill-building. The curriculum emphasizes international perspectives, critical analysis, and field-based research, culminating in a capstone Task Force seminar where students investigate and report on global policy issues to real-world evaluators. Study abroad is strongly encouraged. Graduates pursue careers in government, business, consulting, law, nonprofits, academia, and global organizations.
