The Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a major in Public Service and Policy at the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy & Governance, University of Washington, is an interdisciplinary major designed to deepen students’ understanding of their roles in public service and the creation and implementation of public policy. The curriculum focuses on three learning outcomes: understanding the institutional context for policy creation and implementation; building a methodological toolkit for evidence-based policymaking; and expanding communication, management, and leadership skills for effective public service. Students complete courses across policy domains and participate in experiential learning such as policy labs partnered with real-world clients. Graduates are equipped for impactful careers in governmental, nonprofit, and civic organizations.
