The BS in Environmental Public Health at the University of Washington provides rigorous STEM-based training in identifying, preventing, and controlling environmental factors that threaten human health. Students gain foundational knowledge in environmental health sciences and focus in one of three areas: Biomedical Sciences, Health & Environmental Science, or Environmental Public Health Practice. The program is accredited by EHAC and requires a 400-hour internship. Graduates are prepared for careers in public health agencies, industry, consulting, and further study in graduate or professional programs. Coursework covers environmental health regulation, environmental sampling, microbiology, epidemiology, toxicology, and risk assessment.
