The Online Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the UNC School of Social Work provides a rigorous, CSWE-accredited graduate-level social work education that mirrors its campus-based program. The 62-credit program includes a Generalist Curriculum (social welfare policy, human behavior, social work practice, social research) and a Specialization Curriculum, where students select a concentration in Direct Practice or Community, Management, and Policy Practice. Required field practicum experiences total 1,000 hours, completed in students’ local communities. The curriculum develops advanced skills in research, policy, and evidence-informed practice to prepare graduates for leadership roles in diverse social work settings.
