The Public Management and Leadership specialty, part of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) at UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Government, develops leaders for public, nonprofit, and government sectors. The program provides rigorous academic study and hands-on experience, emphasizing local government management, leadership skills, organizational theory, policy analysis, budgeting, and ethics. Students complete a 45-credit curriculum including core courses, electives, and practical experiences. Both on-campus and online formats are available, and graduates assume roles at all levels of government and community-focused organizations.
