The Master of Arts (Humanities) program at the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, provides interdisciplinary graduate-level training across core humanities disciplines. The school houses more than 30 departments covering natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, fostering deep research, teaching, and professional development. Students benefit from department-specific seminars, opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional teaching experience. Graduate education is overseen by the Dietrich School’s Graduate Studies Office, which coordinates admissions, academic progress, funding, and degree certification. Students may design individualized programs of study in consultation with their departments, pursue joint degree or certificate options, and are encouraged to participate in research and teaching fellowships.
