The MS in Psychology in Education with a concentration in Research Methodology prepares graduates for careers in testing, research, and psychometrics. The program emphasizes the quantitative methods used in educational and psychological research, including measurement, research design, and statistical analysis. Students acquire skills to design assessments, analyze educational data, and contribute to research studies in universities, research centers, testing agencies, school systems, government agencies, and industry. Graduates are equipped to participate in applied research, validate assessments, analyze test data, and assist educators with utilization and interpretation of data. The program is coordinated by the Department of Psychology in Education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Education. As of 2025, the MEd in Research Methodology appears to be discontinued for new admissions, but the MS in Psychology in Education with a research methodology concentration remains noted in the official program catalog.
