The Master of Studies in Law (MSL) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law is a 30-credit advanced graduate degree tailored for graduates and mid-career professionals seeking specialized legal knowledge without pursuing a JD. The program provides foundational and advanced study across several fields of law with the flexibility for students to design their own concentration. Students take foundational courses such as Introduction to Law and Legal Reasoning, select a first-year JD course, and complete credits in a legal specialization. Both fully in-person, fully online, and hybrid options are available, with all students benefitting from Pitt Law’s network and faculty.
