The Bachelor of Science in Computational Social Science at the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, is an interdisciplinary program blending social science theory with computational methods. The curriculum prepares students to understand and innovatively address multi-scale social challenges such as climate change, political violence, cybersecurity, social polarization, and inequality. Students gain proficiency in modern computational tools, data analysis, and social science concepts, culminating in a research capstone where digital data is used to solve real-world problems. Graduates are trained to build and improve theoretically informed models of social processes, bridging domain and technical expertise.
