The Bachelor of Arts in Italian at the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, offers students rigorous training in the Italian language, along with a deep immersion in Italy’s literary and cultural traditions. The program prepares graduates for advanced study in the humanities, law, and international affairs, as well as for careers in business, government, and education. Many students pursue double majors and take advantage of study abroad opportunities in Rome or Florence. The curriculum includes contemporary society, literature, film, and linguistics, with both creative and analytical components. Advanced students attain written and spoken proficiency and access unique research and teaching opportunities.
