The BS in Physics and Astronomy at the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, is primarily designed for students interested in astronomy or related aspects of space science. The program provides a solid foundation in both physics and astronomy, preparing graduates for graduate study or professional careers in scientific, technical, or educational fields. Students complete at least 50 credits distributed between physics and astronomy, can select between tracks such as Graduate School Preparation or Education, and have opportunities for undergraduate research, access to modern laboratories, and involvement with the historic Allegheny Observatory. A minimum 'C' average in required science courses is necessary for graduation.
