The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the Swanson School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh, provides students with foundations in humanities, social sciences, physical sciences, and mathematics, followed by specialized civil engineering subjects. The curriculum offers broad-based training and electives that allow students to focus on areas including structures, geotechnical engineering, environmental systems, transportation, sustainability, and project management. The program concludes with a capstone design project and is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. It prepares graduates for roles safeguarding public welfare through design, construction, and operation of essential civic infrastructure, or for continued study at the graduate level.
