The University of Pittsburgh's David C. Frederick Honors College offers a rigorous Honors Degree program that culminates in a jointly-conferred diploma from both the Honors College and the student's primary school or college. The program is designed to enhance the academic experience through interdisciplinary study, challenging honors courses, engaging co-curricular and extracurricular activities, individualized mentorship, priority course registration, and access to honors community housing. Completion requires at least 18 credits of honors coursework (including experiential options like research, study abroad, or internships), participation in the Honors Outside the Classroom Curriculum (OCC), and maintaining a minimum 3.25 GPA upon graduation. The program enrolls approximately 700 new students each year.
