The Master of Science in Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis offers graduate-level education that covers advanced topics in grapevine genetics, physiology, and biochemistry, as well as wine chemistry, microbiology, and process engineering of winemaking. The program prepares students for professional careers in the wine industry, focusing on both the scientific and technical aspects of grape production and wine making. Students have opportunities for research, internships, and collaborative projects within the renowned UC Davis wine science community. PhD studies in this area at UC Davis are not offered through a dedicated Viticulture & Enology PhD program, but can be pursued in related graduate groups (such as Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or Plant Biology) with a designated emphasis in Viticulture & Enology.
