The M.A. in Native American Studies at UC Davis offers an interdisciplinary program focusing on the Hemispheric Study of the Americas, allowing students to examine diverse aspects of Native American and Indigenous experience, history, and contemporary issues. The curriculum combines core and elective courses in Native American history, language, religion, politics, art, community development, and research methodologies. Students can choose between a thesis/project (Plan I) or comprehensive examination (Plan II) for program completion. The program provides both qualitative and quantitative research training for careers or advanced study in academia, tribal administration, education, cultural institutions, public policy, and community development. It is administered by the College of Letters and Science.
