The Credential/M.A. program at UC Davis School of Education is an integrated graduate program allowing students to earn both a California teaching credential and a Master of Arts in Education in less than two years. Students select either the Multiple Subject (elementary) or Single Subject (secondary) credential track, with options in subjects such as English, mathematics, science, social science, and agriculture. A bilingual authorization in Spanish or Mandarin is offered. The program immerses candidates in public school classrooms and emphasizes a theoretical-practical approach, integrating research and hands-on experience. The master's portion focuses on research integration into teaching practice, preparing graduates to be reflective, pro-active educators. Admission requires a relevant bachelor's degree, minimum 3.0 GPA, and completion of foundational coursework. International students must demonstrate English proficiency (IELTS minimum 7/9). No GRE required. Application deadlines for 2025-26 are January 15 (priority), March 1, and April 1.
