The LL.M. program at UC Davis School of Law offers foreign-trained lawyers and law graduates the opportunity to specialize in Environmental Law through a structured concentration. The program integrates LL.M. students into JD classes, ensuring deep exposure to U.S. and comparative environmental law. To earn the Environmental Law Concentration, students must complete at least one foundation course and satisfactorily complete 8 units of environmental law classes selected from a rich array of electives, covering topics such as climate change law, natural resources law, environmental justice, water law, international environmental law, renewable energy, and more. Successful completion also requires a substantial research paper on an environmental law topic. The program is highly customizable, provides individual advising, access to environmental law clinics, moot court, and networking opportunities, and takes advantage of UC Davis’s leading role in environmental science and legal scholarship. The degree prepares graduates for practice or research in environmental law, policy, and advocacy.
