The LL.M. with preplanned specialization in Health Law and Bioethics at the UC Davis School of Law is designed for legal professionals seeking deep expertise in intersecting fields of law, medicine, and public policy. The program offers a rigorous curriculum covering medical liability, health law, bioethics, public health, reproductive health, biotechnology, and disability rights. Students can build practical skills through judicial externships, moot court competitions, interdisciplinary courses (including cross-registration with the UC Davis School of Medicine and the Master of Public Health program), and participation in student organizations and scholarly journals. The Health Care Law and Bioethics concentration prepares graduates for careers in regulatory agencies, private health facilities, insurance, and law firms, equipped to address complex legal and ethical challenges in healthcare. LL.M. candidates may start the program in August or January and may tailor their curriculum to focus intensively on health law and bioethics.
