The Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at UC Davis, offered through the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, is a multidisciplinary undergraduate program. The first two years build a broad foundation in biological sciences with emphasis on genetics, molecular biology, and cell biology. In the third and fourth years, students concentrate in one of four areas: microbial biotechnology, animal biotechnology, plant biotechnology, or bioinformatics. The curriculum includes hands-on research and a mandatory internship in a biotechnology company or research lab, preparing graduates for diverse careers in biotech, healthcare, food, environmental science, and more. Students also benefit from exposure to current research, product development seminars, and strong connections with industry leaders.
