The Bachelor of Science in Human Development at UC Davis, within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, focuses on the biological, cognitive, and social-emotional processes that shape human development across the lifespan. Students receive foundational training in biological and social sciences, nutrition, and human development observation techniques before advancing to upper-division studies that cover both typical and atypical development in children and adults. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, including at least one required practicum course and opportunities for additional internships. Graduates are prepared for career paths in education, healthcare, social services, and beyond, as well as for advanced study in fields related to human development, medicine, social work, and counseling.
