The BS in Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis is an ABET-accredited interdisciplinary program in the College of Engineering that provides students with a solid foundation in life and physical sciences, mathematics, and engineering. The curriculum covers modern areas such as medical imaging, regenerative medicine, medical device design, biomaterials, and bioinformatics, preparing graduates for direct employment in the biomedical engineering field, advanced study in graduate or professional degrees, or for roles in related industries. Students are exposed to hands-on design experiences, practical clinical exposure, and the opportunity to specialize in advanced topics within biomedical engineering. The program does not position itself as a primary pre-med route due to additional required coursework beyond the BME degree for medical school preparation.
