The Bachelor of Science in Physics/Computer Science at the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering is designed for students who desire a rigorous curriculum engaging both physics and computer science. The program provides essential coursework from both disciplines, enabling students to explore areas such as computational physics, algorithms, data structures, and the fundamental laws of the physical world. It is tailored for students with dual interests who wish to complete the core requirements of both majors within a standard four-year undergraduate career. Some flexibility exists in physics coursework (PHYS 151L and 152L may be substituted for PHYS 161L and 162L). Graduates will be equipped for roles in high-tech, scientific computing, research, software development, or for further study in graduate programs.
