This joint programme provides comprehensive training in both Anthropology and History, enabling students to identify historical and contemporary patterns of social organisation, cultural divisions, and varieties of inequality. Anthropology examines human diversity across the globe, teaching how societies interact and explore topics like family, sex, religion, art, politics, and economics. History modules cover eras from the Roman Empire to the modern day across Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia, providing context for present societal structures. Students gain critical skills in research, interviewing, cross-cultural understanding, writing, and presenting, and are taught by experts in small groups from the first year. The programme encourages wide-ranging module choices and independent exploration, preparing graduates for an increasingly globalised world.
