The Master of Primary Teaching at the University of Canberra is a two-year, graduate-entry initial teacher education program accredited by the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI). The program prepares graduates to teach primary school years K-6, blending theory with extensive practical experience. Students engage in workshops, simulations, microteaching, problem-based learning, school-based placements, and case study analysis. The curriculum covers all key areas of the Australian Curriculum (literacy, numeracy, science, arts, health, humanities, and more) and emphasizes pedagogical content knowledge, inclusive education, and Indigenous perspectives. Graduates complete 60 days of professional teaching experience and may be eligible to teach in Australia and internationally.
