The Master of Arts in Social Data Science at the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, Arizona State University, prepares students to analyze and understand the social implications of big data, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies. The curriculum emphasizes both technical skills—such as data wrangling and computational methods—and critical social theory, fostering graduates able to analyze, manage, and ethically contribute to socio-technical systems in professional or research settings. Students complete core courses in data and society, ethics, technologies of community, computational methods, and may choose either a thesis or a capstone portfolio as a culminating experience.
