The Bachelor of Science in Design program in interior design at ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts explores how people inhabit, interact with, and transform interior environments. Students learn to create functional, aesthetic, and psychologically supportive spaces within buildings, using creative, technical, and communication skills. The curriculum covers history and theory of design, communication materials, lighting, construction methods, and technology. Collaborative studio-based learning is emphasized, alongside the opportunity to interact with related disciplines. The program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, ensuring professional standards and pathways to internships and careers in architecture and design firms.
