The Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program at Northwestern University's School of Professional Studies (SPS) equips students with both technical and leadership skills for data-driven decision-making. Students learn to use relational, document, and graph database systems, and analytics software based on open-source environments such as R, Python, and Go, with applications in deep learning using TensorFlow and Keras. The curriculum includes predictive modeling, analytics, business strategies, and customizable specializations: Analytics and Modeling, Analytics Management, Artificial Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Technology Entrepreneurship. The program is available in a fully online format designed for working professionals, or as a one-year accelerated option blending online and on-campus study at Chicago’s downtown campus. Graduates are prepared for analytical, modeling, and data-driven roles in various industries.
