The Bachelor of Science in Physics at Northwestern University's Weinberg College is designed to provide students with a rigorous and broad foundation in both classical and modern physics. The curriculum covers analytical reasoning, mathematical modeling, laboratory investigation, and computational approaches. Core areas include classical and quantum mechanics, electricity & magnetism, statistical mechanics, and modern physics, with additional opportunities for research and laboratory experience. The program prepares graduates for a range of careers in science, engineering, medicine, law, and education, as well as for advanced study in physics and related fields. Students may pursue either a major or a minor in Physics, with flexibility for interdisciplinary learning and electives. Undergraduate research is strongly encouraged.
