The MSc in Medical Visualisation & Human Anatomy is a one-year taught postgraduate programme jointly delivered by the Glasgow School of Art (School of Innovation and Technology) and the University of Glasgow (School of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing). The programme is accredited by the Institute of Medical Illustrators. It integrates detailed study of human anatomy—including cadaveric dissection—with state-of-the-art digital visualisation methods, such as 3D modelling, volumetric visualisation, interactive application development (e.g., in Unity3D) for simulation, education, clinical training, and research. Students gain advanced skills in the application of digital technologies to biomedical datasets, preparing them for careers in academia, healthcare industries, medical research, or digital content industries relating to health. The curriculum is structured in three compulsory stages: digital technologies applied to medical visualisation, advanced human anatomy, and a supervised MSc research project. Graduates come from diverse fields, including biological sciences, medical, dental, computer science, digital design, and more, and the programme is suitable for both UK and international applicants.
