The Zoology program at the University of Glasgow, College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences, focuses on animal science, ecology, evolution, epidemiology, genetics, and field research skills. The curriculum addresses critical modern issues such as animal welfare, disease spillovers, and environmental change. Students develop strong data collection and quantitative analysis abilities, preparing them for careers in environmental consulting, academic research, education, conservation, science media, and management of zoos and aquaria. The MSci pathway includes a paid work placement in a research or professional setting, extending the program by one year. The curriculum includes fieldwork on terrestrial and aquatic habitats, invertebrate and vertebrate biology, and advanced molecular techniques to ensure practical as well as theoretical training.
