The MEng in Computer Science and Molecular Biology (6-7P) is a joint program of MIT’s Department of Biology (Course 7) and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS, Course 6). It builds on the SB in Computer Science and Molecular Biology (Course 6-7) to provide added depth in computational and/or molecular biology through advanced coursework and a substantial thesis. Students are full members of both departments and of the School of Science and the School of Engineering, with one academic advisor from each department. The curriculum aims to train graduates to tackle challenges at the interface of computation and biology, with strong foundations in both fields and integrative capstone experiences.
