MIT’s HASTS is a doctoral program jointly administered by the Program in Science, Technology, and Society (STS), the Anthropology Program, and the History Faculty in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (SHASS). The SM in HASTS is an en route master’s degree that may be awarded to students progressing through the HASTS PhD; it is not a separate, standalone master’s admission path.
