MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) is a 24‑month dual‑degree program jointly offered by MIT School of Engineering and MIT Sloan School of Management, awarding graduates an MBA (or SM in Management) plus an SM in an engineering discipline. The program integrates rigorous engineering and management curricula with a guaranteed six‑month research internship at one of 20+ partner companies; the internship research forms the basis of the dual‑degree master’s thesis. LGO cohorts begin in June with an LGO Summer Core, join Sloan’s MBA Core in the fall, complete 8–12 management and 5–6 engineering subjects across two years (department‑specific), and finish with industry‑focused leadership and operations coursework. Graduates are prepared to lead strategic initiatives at the intersection of technology, operations, manufacturing, analytics, and sustainability across industries.
