The Program in Media Arts and Sciences (MAS) at MIT’s School of Architecture and Planning offers an SM in Media Technology focused on inventing, studying, and creatively using new technologies that transform expression, communication, learning, and human interaction with the world. MAS draws on computer science, cognitive sciences, communications, design, and the arts, and is tightly integrated with the MIT Media Lab’s research groups. Master’s students work in an apprenticeship model with a research advisor, complete at least 66 units of graduate subjects, and produce a satisfactory research thesis.
